Lennar is building Horizons as the gated 55+ section of Carnes Crossroads, with plans from 1,309 to 2,224 square feet across three collections. Most homes in the listing above are new construction, and each address lists Summerville even though the community is inside Goose Creek city limits.
We help buyers pick the right collection and confirm how a home is taxed before they sign a contract.
It is in Goose Creek. The city annexed about 2,500 acres at Carnes Crossroads in 2006, but the Postal Service never moved the area off Summerville's 29486 ZIP code. The Post and Courier reported in September 2026 that the city is still pushing for its own ZIP code here.
For a buyer, the mismatch shows up on paperwork. Check the Berkeley County tax record for the home you want so your tax estimate uses Goose Creek's city rate. Call the City of Goose Creek, not Summerville, about city services and permits.
As of October 2026, Lennar's Horizons page lists these collections.
The Legends plans suit buyers who want a guest room and an office. The Carriage and Cottage plans mean fewer rooms to clean and furnish.
Lennar's page calls Horizons' own amenity center a future feature and gives no opening date. Plans for it include a resort-style pool, an indoor lap pool, a clubhouse and sport courts. Until it opens, residents use the wider Carnes Crossroads amenities. Lennar names the Agrihood farm, resort-style pool, wellness center, and parks and trails.
Horizons is a sub-association of the Carnes Crossroads Master Association, and the Horizons homeowners association is managed by CCMC. Ask Lennar's sales team for the current amenity schedule before you choose a homesite.
Bring your must-have room count and your monthly budget, and Search Charleston Homes will match them to a collection before you visit the model. Call 843-296-2546, or compare other options on our Charleston-area 55+ communities page.
