Four Seasons at Lakes of Cane Bay is K. Hovnanian's gated, age-restricted section of Cane Bay Plantation, set on the master plan's 300-acre lake system off US 176. As of October 2026, K. Hovnanian has a new phase open, so builder homes are still for sale here.
The listing feed above mixes those builder homes with resales of houses built since 2016. We help buyers sort out which fits their timeline and budget.
Del Webb at Cane Bay is the other gated 55+ section in the master plan. It was built out between 2007 and 2017, so every home there is a resale.
The Four Seasons lakehouse is about 24,000 square feet and right on the water. Inside is an indoor lap pool. Outside, separate pools for adults and visiting grandkids, plus a kayak launch. Both sections share the golf cart trail to nearby shopping and dining. Our Charleston-area 55+ communities page compares more options across the region.
The builder sells three collections, and resales add earlier plans to the mix.
Several quick move-in villas list completion dates in early 2027, so a new home here may still mean a few months of waiting.
The builder says the community is intended mainly for residents 55 and older. It also notes age limits for other permanent and temporary residents, with limited exceptions for residents 50 and older.
The exact terms are written in the covenants and HOA rules, not the brochure. We ask for those documents early, before buyers fall in love with a floor plan. Guest-stay limits get the closest read, because they shape how often family can visit and for how long.
The builder notes that lot and view premiums may apply, so a lakefront homesite can cost more than the same plan on an interior street. Lakefront listings sometimes advertise launching a kayak from the backyard, while interior lots rely on the shared launch at the clubhouse.
A water view and a flood zone are separate questions. We pull the address on the FEMA Flood Map Service Center and ask the insurance agent for a quote before inspection deadlines get close. Dues can also come in two layers, so ask for both the Cane Bay master fee and the Four Seasons fee.
Tell us whether you want to be on the water, how many bedrooms your visitors need, and how soon you want to move. We will line up matching builder homes and resales, then compare the builder's contract terms side by side with a resale's. Call Search Charleston Homes at 843-296-2546.
